This year’s heatwaves have been even hotter than last year’s scorching heat, with a maximum temperature of 39°C expected in Osaka today. Perhaps due to this incredibly hot summer, we’ve seen a significant increase in inquiries about heat-blocking shoji paper. While our company didn’t originally offer heat-blocking shoji paper, our previously introduced “light-blocking shoji paper” has become a popular choice due to its exceptionally high heat-blocking properties. Each roll contains one sheet of special shoji paper measuring 94cm x 215cm, and can be sold individually. It blocks over 99% of daytime sunlight and provides over 20% heat protection for heating and cooling. The light-blocking and heat-blocking properties are achieved by the aluminum-coated PET film sandwiched between the shoji paper. Since both the front and back surfaces are made of shoji paper, the product can be applied using the same installation methods as regular shoji paper. By using it as a parasol to block the sunlight during the hot summer months, you can prevent the temperature inside your home from rising and reduce your air conditioning costs.
