Kneaded traditional Japanese paper (Momi-kami)

It is said that the kneading traditional Japanese paper was made more than 700 years before. Since the beginning of the Edo era, it has been widely used for hanging scrolls and other surface decorations, and technically various kneading methods and patterns have been born and developed. As of today,  the demand of kneaded paper became smaller and smaller, but it is still used  because it has a unique atmosphere and taste. This paper is coated with two layers of pigment in different colors, and the color of the lower layer appears on the upper layer (crack) that was rubbed and removed to form a pattern. It is a Japanese paper that takes a lot of time and effort to make, such as applying “Dosa” to the base Japanese paper, dissolving a pigment containing whitewash in glue to color it, and finishing the surface with ” Funori” . Nowadays, the number of craftsmen who can knead has decreased, making it a valuable Japanese paper. We have 28 types of kneading paper with a standard size of 1.95 shaku (59 cm) x 4.0 shaku (121 cm), so we would be grateful if you could use it once.
