History
Corporate history
In the latter half of the Meiji era, we started to produce Yoshino Washi paper in Kuzu/Yoshino, Nara
prefecture, and in the early Showa era, we started selling Yoshino Washi paper nationwide by ourself.
Currently, we are handling all type of Washi and related products and selling to globally.
- 1904
- Fusataro Komatsu starts to create Yoshino Washi in “Kubogaito“ Yoshino Town, Nara Prefecture.(formerly Kuzu Village)
- 1932
- Jyoichiro Komatsu Established 「Komatsu Jyoichiro Shoten」in “Kita muda”, Oyodo Town, Nara Prefecture.
- 1957
- Started gold and silver foil stamping in “Atarashi” , Oyodo Town, Nara Prefecture.
- 1961
- Moved store to the current place. Chuou-ku, Osaka.
- 1968
- Established Komatsu Co., Ltd. and Jyoichiro Komatsu became the first president.
- 1973
- Newly built current office building in Uehonmachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka
- 1977
- Tahei Komatsu became president.
- 1990
- Built new gold and silver foil stamping factory in “ Atarashi” , Oyodo Town, Nara Prefecture
- 1995
- Built wood product processing factory in “Kubogaito”, Yoshino Town, Nara Prefecture
